Participation in the group exhibition "Fire" – Gallery of the Croatian Association of Artists of Istria, Pula

Last Friday, I had the honor of participating in the group exhibition "Fire", a thematic project organized by the Istrian Association of Artists, under the curatorial leadership of Marko Šircel.

The exhibition is open at the HDLU Istria Gallery in Pula, and will remain open until May 2, 2025.

For this exhibition, I created the work "Flame of the soul" (acrylic on canvas, 30 x 40 cm) – a painting that was chosen for exhibition among the many submitted works.

This painting explores fire as a symbol of inner strength, passion, but also destruction.

Through color contrasts and dynamic composition, I wanted to depict that eternal dance between creation and destruction – what moves us, but can also burn us.

“ Fire is a force that purifies, destroys and renews. It symbolizes inner passion, willpower, but also destruction when it gets out of control. This painting explores this duality – fire as a driving force of man. A flame burns within us – it can be the ardor of creativity, the desire for change, the inner strength that drives us forward. But it can also be a flame that exhausts us, that consumes everything we are. Fire reshapes us, leaving only the essential, that which survives its power. It is a symbol of transformation – it can raise us from the ashes like a phoenix or make us burn everything that no longer serves us. Through the contrasts of colors and the dynamics of the composition, this painting evokes this eternal dance between creation and destruction, reminding us that without fire there is no shadow, no light, no life. In the end, the question remains: what are we burning within ourselves and what kind of fire drives us? ”

It was wonderful to be part of this exhibition alongside numerous other artists who interpreted fire in their own way – each from their own personal experience, feelings, and sensibilities.
