Winning photograph "Shadows of Creation"

And this time, I open an email that arrived announcing a competition I applied for, and I scroll through the names of the participants, finding my name next to which it says "Winning Photograph."

I read it and can't believe it. I read it again, just in case I saw it wrong. I was slightly in shock because I had no expectations. The best surprises are always like that.

It's a special feeling when your photo is declared the best out of 774 submitted entries.

"Shadows of Creation" came about when I was working on my new painting, and in the middle of the process, the sun was falling on the canvas and giving me such a special energy that I wanted to capture it.

And I'm glad I did, and that I decided to submit it to the competition after all.

The opening of the exhibition "Photographers 2026" was yesterday at Galerija Principij, which announced an international competition on the occasion of Women's Day, traditionally held every year in honor of women photographers. 138 photographs are participating, of which 13 photographs received commendations.
